Books and Exhibitions
MAMAA campaigned on behalf of the families of the children who were murdered by Brady and Hindley to have their rights respected so that portraits and plays depicting murderers cannot be shown without permission from the families concerned. We also campaign to stop anyone being allowed to profit from crime by writing books about the murders they have committed. We wrote to all the major bookshops to ask them not to stock the books called ‘End of Alice’ about paedophiles and ‘Cries Unheard’ about Mary Bell. Families have rarely been successful in stopping the publication of such books and sadly even if they have won, Judges often overrule the decisions in appeal courts. This of course adds to the distress of the families and reinforces the public’s idea that the judiciary care more about offenders than victims.

Families have written books about their experience of losing their child, sibling, parent etc but its very difficult to get libraries to stock them. There are a list of publications on this site, if you cannot find them in your local library ask them to order a copy.
