Dee Edwards, Lyn and Roger Costello are the Co-founders and First Trustees of Mothers Against Murder and Aggression (MAMAA).

MAMAA was set up in 1993 by ordinary mothers with the initial aim of establishing a national child safety campaign. By 1994 most of the original founder members had left to continue with their own work. However, Dee, Lyn and Roger had by this time been working with many families bereaved through murder and because of the obvious lack of support for them they decided to concentrate on the needs of the victim’s families. Work carried out on a national basis is coordinated by the First Trustees who are totally committed to the charity meeting its full potential.

Although other trustees and volunteers perform an essential role only the founders work voluntarily on a full time basis. Since 1993 they have gained a wealth of experience working with victims and their families and in liaising with professional organisations to try to ensure that the needs of victims are met.
