Hi everyone,

I don't know how many of you remember the 1972 song called Why can't we live together?' by Timmy Thomas. My friend is married to a record producer who has, with Timmy Thomas's permission put some new words to it.

Jimmy lives in London and was visiting friends in east sussex where a young boy was stabbed. His father was on the news asking why our children were all killing each other and Jimmy remembered the song and decided to contact Timmy Thomas who agreeed to them making a new video.

The link is below, I think it is a really powerful message and for once words speak louder than actions. No images of people in the video and no mention of colour, religion or race. I hope we can do everything possible to get this message across.

Jimmy is sending me some copies so that anyone going into schools can use it. This is not a charity record, nor a gimmick, simply a father of four young children affected like the rest of us and wanting to try to make a difference.

CD being released as a download on 11th Feb and as a hard copy on 25th March

Even if you don't like rap music this is still a good messgae for schools and young people. We forget sometimes how scared young people are of walking the streets
